From May 17th to November 10th 2019, the Galerie Contemporaine of the Musée d'Art Moderne et d'Art Contemporain (Mamac) will host the exhibition "Le bikini invisible" by Lina Hentgen and Gaëlle Hippolyte. An exhibition featuring large paintings, films, sculptures and installations.
"The Invisible Bikini": the title seems the beginning of an investigation that leads on the trail of a bikini lost in exotic places. Or the effect of sexual assault aggression in a seaside resort or even the super power given to a fashion accessory. The invisible bikini shown at MAMAC allows, of course, an eye-catcher on the Riviera, on languid bodies and on its stereotypes.
It is the prelude to a fiction that the visitor is free to build, as well as a polite, naughty, wildly pop and deliberately mischievous update of the works of the great figures that mark the collections of the MAMAC.
The Musée d'Art Moderne et d'Art Contemporain (Mamac) is located at Place Yves Klein in Nice.
