Alba's 86thWhite Truffle Fair is entering its third weekend with great success. Many visitors are coming from all over the world to be immersed in the fragrance and aroma of this area’s products – amazing food and wine - and, of course, primarily to find, smell, taste, and buy the “tuber magnatum pico”, or simply white truffle.
Alba’s International Fair of the White Truffle is the pinnacle of truffle season in Piedmont region, which officially begins on September 21st and ends on January 31st.
Coming up in the following weekends are lectures, cooking demos, poetry performances, a fencing tournament - all along, of course, the renowned white truffle market which runs daily.
Additionally, during the Fair, guided tours of Underground Alba are scheduled every Saturday and Sunday from October 7th to November 27th . The underground Alba tour is led by a professional archaeologist which guides visitors through the remains of the Roman and medieval city. On Saturday November 26th and Sunday, December 11th, visitors can exceptionally admire the domus of Palazzo Govone Caratti with a surprising mosaic from Roman times.
