The free hike begins, on Sunday December 6th, at the village of Cipressa, a small medieval village on the coast of West Liguria between Imperia and Arma di Taggia, with the fine baroque church of the Visitation and the oratorio of the Holy Announcement. Here participants will climb to the ancient church of St. Anthony, just above Costarainera, and then reach the enchanting village of Lingueglietta.
A visit of Lingueglietta will follow, a former feudal seat of the family Lengueglia, with narrowly lined houses typical for this formerly fortified village; the group will admire the fortified church of Saint Peter and its parish church.
The day continues heading toward the park of sculptures “Between Worlds” by Carin Grudda, an artist of German origin, magic and alchemist, able to pick up stranded objects and transform them into monuments, to introduce the seed of the invention in the assembly of heterogeneous waste with an irrepressible creativity. Among Carin Grudda's large bronzes, the Cerberus of San Lorenzo al Mare is one of the most beloved.
Participants will then walk back to Lingueglietta and to Cipressa where they will have lunch at restaurant La Torre (Euro 23).
In the afternoon a short walk to visit Villa Biener, situated in an old olive grove in the hills of Cipressa with terraces overlooking the sea. Designed in the '70s by a Persian architect, since 2003 is the property of Judit Török. “VILLA BIENER Contemporary Art”, a cultural association, was founded by Judith Török and Carlo Maglitto who both consider their habitation an open space to facilitate the production of new works, involving also young artists, which then become a permanent contribution to the history of the area.
