Premio Tenco 2015, a contest in Sanremo dedicated to great singer-songwriters

This Thursday, October 22^nd, Premio Tenco 2015 - a song writing Festival that takes place at Ariston Theatre in Sanremo - opens with a rich program dedicated to renowned Italian singer-writer Francesco Guccini, in view of his 75th birthday. It is a festival of high artistic, cultural and technical quality that runs since 1974; a unique event in Europe, and possibly in the world, where Italian and foreign singers are invited.

This 39^th edition of Premio Tenco is titled “Fra la Via Aurelia e il West” (“Between Aurelia route and West”) from a Guccini's famous album. Several events revolving around Guccini's artistic carreer will take place in the afternoon while, in the evening, he will also be in the front row watching performances by various artists interpreting his repertoire as well as their own songs.

Each year, "Tenco Awards" are are given to one or more major world-class artists who have distinguished themselves in the course of their career. Awards are selected by a thick panel of journalists and music critics (more than 200). Winners participate in the Festival with a short concert.

Friday October 23rd: Carmen Consoli, Armando Corsi, Mauro Ermanno Giovanardi, Jacqui McShee, Orchestra Sinfonica di Sanremo con Vanessa Tagliabue Yorke, Leonardo Pieraccioni, Bobo Rondelli

Saturday October 24th: Cesare Basile, Samuele Bersani & Pacifico, Bocephus King, Musici & Friends, Têtes de Bois, Giovanni Truppi
