Flowers speak to us in their own special language. Lavender, in particular, can make us feel a sense of distrust – since it was used to treat snake and insect bites in the past – or make us reminisce happy memories, as suggested by Poetry.
To find out more about how much lavender has to offer, the Museum of Lavender in Carpasio has planned a programme of events, from April to September 2015, entitled “A day in the valley immersed in the scent of lavender”.
The Museum is the first and only one existing within Italy’s borders, and is located in the Argentina Valley in the Province of Imperia (Western Liguria, Italian Riviera).
A very interesting spring and summertime trip, organised by the Museum, starts at 10/10.30am with a guided visit to the Museum of Lavender in Carpasio (free entrance), and includes lunch at La Carpasina restaurant, where visitors can pick between the Lavender-tasting menu and the “homemade” menu featuring first course, second course, side dishes, dessert, water wine and coffee all for €15.
Following lunch, visitors will be offered a guided walk to Trunette and, right after it, also several activities in partnership with local craftsmen (in particular basket makers) and, only for the month of July, workshops about the processing of lavender flowers.
It will also be possible, upon request, to visit the famous Museum of the Resistance in Carpasio.
