As of today December 14th, Thello, the international train that provides both daytime and overnight travel between France and Italy, operates a new daily direct route between the South-East of France and Italy, home to some of the most spectacular scenery and events in all of Southern Europe.
This route allows travellers to ride from Marseille to Milan, and vice versa, passing through the charming Provence, the pristine beaches along the Côte d'Azur, the city of Cannes home to the Cannes Film Festival, the luxuriousness of Monaco, the scenic Italian Riviera, the city of Genoa - 2004 European Capital of Culture, and the university town of Pavia. The route is also a perfect direct connection for international travelers to major airports such as Nice and Milan. The service, in fact, meets the need for short, medium and long-distance travel.
Thello is the first train that allows to travel within this area without changing trains and at affordable fares, in a range of 30 to 70 euro for a journey Marseille-Milan, and a range of 15 to 45 euro for a journey Nice-Milan (second class). The direct line between Italy and France leaves Milan's Centrale station at 3.10pm and Genoa's Piazza Principe station at 4.56pm. The train from France to Italy leaves Marseilles at 3.30pm and Nice at 6.09pm.
Passengers can ride Thello trains in comfortable 1st or 2nd class seats and, train accommodations aside, can enjoy city-center to city-center convenience and arrive relaxed and refreshed in the city of their dreams.
